Connect to the CECE file server from home or abroad.

Connecting CECE services via secure VPN is a 4 step process:

  1. Connect to the internet.
  2. Connect the VPN client.
  3. Connect to the CE file server.
  4. Disconnect VPN when finished.

CECE laptops are configured with remote access programs and shortcuts to do this. Submit a help request if you'd like assistance setting this up on your personal laptop or computer..

Step-by-step guide

First establish a wireless or wired internet connection. Connect to your home, hotel, or other network according to the instructions for that network. If you can't access the internet, you can't access the CE server.

UConnect

All CECE issued staff and checkout laptops are configured so that you can access CECE systems through UConnect anywhere on campus. Further VPN procedures are not necessary when using UConnect.

Establish a VPN connection. Staff and checkout laptops are configured with the application "Cisco AnyConnect VPN".

Disconnect When Not In Use

VPN slows network performance. It will slow other applications using network and internet access. It is recommended that you disconnect AnyConnect when not in use.

Right-click the AnyConnect status icon and select disconnect or quit.
